Sci-Fi Harry is the story of a shy boy who develops powerful psychokinetic abilities - one of those people who can move things with their minds alone. But his psychokinesis is both incredibly strong and dangerously uncontrolled, and people start turning up dead after each use of his powers... This story reminds me most of Stephen King's Carrie, which was also about a social outcast with mysterious powers. Like Carrie, Harry quietly resents always having hiding in the shadows and being picked on, and he sees his new powers as a way to finally be seen and recognized by the world. Many of the characters in Sci-Fi Harry are similar to those in Carrie - the popular cheerleader-type girl who takes an interest in the main character, her popular boyfriend, and so on. But unlike Carrie, Harry can't control his powers, and people nearby end up dead from the psychic backlash of something as simple as bending a spoon. WHO IS GEORGE IIDA (IIDA JOUJI)? George Iida (飯田譲治), the creator of Sci-Fi Harry, is quite a famous director in his own right. His films tend towards the...how shall I put this...dark? He's directed the following: MANGA INFORMATION
