His blood type is A, and according to Japanese tradition, type A is "cautious, considerate, helpful, responsible, peaceful, indecisive, restrains expression, has a good memory, is good at teamwork, prefers formalities and structures." Nanjou's tarot affiliation is the Hierophant. He seems to be more the upright Hierophant than the reversed card, don't you think?
Nanjou's first persona is Aizen Myouou, one of the esoteric Buddhist gods worshipped by the Shingon sect. Aizen Myouou stands for sexual desire, and the ability to overcome it and turn that energy towards seeking enlightenment. Yes, quite. Aizen-kun's usually depicted as a three-eyed, red-faced god with an angry face and tigerskins and stuff.
Aizen Myouou's spells: Hama, Sonic Punch, Suku Kaja, Holy Light, Maha Magnus, Maka Kaja
Nanjou's ultimate persona, which you can only get in the EX Dungeon, is the spirit of his butler, Yamaoka. Yamaoka was killed by zombies at the beginning of Persona 1, and as he was dying he made the "young master" (Bocchama) promise to become the #1 man in Japan. Nanjou's parents are distant socialite/career types, so Yamaoka was more of a father to Nanjou than just a servant. (And when you summon him, Yamaoka's so happy to see the young master again. It's very cute.) You need to pick up the Material Card "Amber Glasses" in the EX Dungeon to summon him.
Yamaoka's spells: Zandyne, Hypnotic Wave, Instant Summer Downpour, Diarahan, Mahanma, Guardian Hammer, Makarakarn
Nanjou is a Libra. ( another description). Refined, intellectual, fond of debates...heh heh.

Nanjou has an odd habit of calling younger people "shounen" (young lad) even if they're barely younger than he is. Another fun linguistic point: in Japanese, he's the heir of the "Nanjou Konzern" (南条 コンシェルン) Apparently they use the German word for 'Conglomerate.'
Nanjou Kei is a returning character - actually, he's been in all three Persona games. In MIP he was a Main character, and in Tsumi he was a hidden NPC that had Tatsuya's Legendary Sword. But now he's back, pithy sayings and all!
Q: What was the reason for selecting Nanjou?
A: He was chosen because he was popular in the first game, but the biggest reason was because he was easy to write into this game, the key point being "Adults' Worries". At first, we had also planned to tie in more of the "Ibunroku" characters. Since we were creating the games as a series, we wanted to show what had happened to the characters in the previous story. That makes things fun for the creators, and also something that's fun for the players. Therefore, in the beginning we thought of a variety of possibilities, like being able to incorporate the characters from the prior story into your party. But in the end, we didn't have the capacity for that, so we gave up on it.
Q: How much of a rich boy is Nanjou?
A: He's the heir to the Nanjou Group, so I think he's quite the rich boy. Well, I'm one of the common people myself, so I don't quite know specifically what he'd be like...I think the main house has many rooms, with many maids lined up in them. In my image, the rooms are Western-style, and there is a limousine sitting outside in the rotary that's big enough for the limo to do a U-turn...well, my image is lacking, though. *laugh* I think that his mother must also certainly be of a house with good pedigree. Perhaps they might even have relatives in the Imperial household. Therefore, in real life Nanjou would be a person in a world that us commoners would never be able to come close to.
Q: Why did Nanjou go to school at St. Hermelin Academy?
A: I think his choice to go to St. Hermelin Academy was certainly done to be contrary to his parents, but in the end, thanks to his entering Hermelin, he made friends that money couldn't buy, and it even had a big impact on Nanjou himself as well. Because of this outcome, his decision was correct. In the future, Nanjou will become someone who stands at the top of society, but those that move beneath him are the common people. Going to Hermelin, he came to think about the lifestyles and thoughts of said people, and reamized that a person who does not understand those things is not someone who should work at the top. At the very least, during his school days amongst the common people, he might have come to think about looking at the world from their point of view.
Q: What is his lifestyle like at college?
A: It's probably the same as before, on a basic level. He might have become a bit more friendly, but he doesn't go out of his way to deprecate himself and praise others. I don't think he's particularly close to his college friends. The friends he's completely comfortable with are still only his friends from Hermelin. Well, he might someday make good friends in England as well. But at the moment, it's the same as before. *laugh* Therefore, if anyone ever says anything bad to him or looks down on him due to the color of his skin or his race, he doesn't make an issue of it at all. Well, for someone who is going to be the number one man in Japan, those sorts of things are unimportant, and there is no value in paying attention to people who say things like that. I think that people will see his resolute demeanor, and in the end he will be appreciated by everyone.
Nanjou seems to have calmed down considerably since his Hermelin days. He goes to college in England, but he's come home to Sumaru for his break and is investigating the rumors linking Kandori and the NWO with his friend Eriko. He's renting a penthouse in Narumi-ku (he seems to never want to see his parents) and is being watched by his butler, Matsuoka.
Q: What is his relationship with Matsuoka?
A: Matsuoka is Nanjou's secretary, but he also exists as Nanjou's bodyguard. He took his place at Nanjou's side after Yamaoka's death three years ago, but they do not have a relationship like Nanjou and Yamaoka in which Yamaoka could interfere in Nanjou's personal life. He was originally working as one of Nanjou's father's aides, but I think Matsuoka was told "In the future, take care of Kei." He operates under the principle that the prestige of the Nanjou Group is more important than Nanjou himself, and believes in teaching Nanjou that in the adult world, nothing will happen if he acts on emotions alone. Nanjou understands this, but as he is still not completely an adult yet, sometimes he lets his emotions take over and he dashes out, running right into Matsuoka. However, he acknowledges that Nanjou is capable, and that he is very trustworthy, so they have a good relationship that is not immediately evident on first glance.
You can tell that despite his constant admonitions, Matsuoka's rather fond of "Kei-sama," as evidenced by his words on the harbor. "Yamaoka...he's grown up so well..."
Nanjou also got a total image makeover, and now wears leather biking clothes and a helmet. *laugh* In addition to "living among normal people," as he did when he attended Hermelin, Nanjou thinks that a future leader of Japan should also be open to new experiences.
Q: When did he start riding a motorcycle?
A: This really is the thing that's most unlike him, isn't it. After he graduated from Hermelin, he decided that he wanted to try out new things that he hadn't done yet, so I think that by extension, he got his hands on a motorcycle. And when he went out for a ride, he found that it felt surprisingly good. *laugh* He could go around Europe on a motorcycle. While he thinks that he's going on trips alone, I think there's actually one of Matsuoka's people secretly following behind him. Because no matter what he says or does, he is the son of the Nanjou Group.
For the record, he got his motorcycle license when he was still at Hermelin. I think Mark would be pretty surprised by that. *laugh*
Besides his Harley, the other "common person" thing that Nanjou seems to really enjoy is baseball. His favorite team is the "Yomeuri Giants." This is just a pun on the Yomiuri Giants, a famous team with a very good record. Apparently, the team's owner is really rich, so he can afford the best players and coaches and equipment, so the team wins often. (Think the New York Yankess, I guess, if you're into baseball.) But many people grumble that that's not quite fair, hence the contact between Nanjou and Baofu where they argue about baseball *laugh* You can read more about the Giants here.
Nanjou also has issues with the Satomi Tadashi theme song; it seems to get stuck in his head, and he's afraid it brainwashes him! *laugh*
Nanjou is especially interested in Kandori's return because, in a sense, his vendetta with Kandori has always been extremely personal. In a sense, Kandori could be thought of as Shadow Nanjou - how he would have turned out if he hadn't learned to care about other people and the effects of his actions.
Q: After the incident in Mikage-cho, had Nanjou used his Persona?
A: He hasn't used it. Unlike Eri, he hasn't had situations in which he had no choice other than to use his Persona...so Aizen Myouou was at Rank 1. It seems that people have asked, "I returned Aizen Myouou last time around, so shouldn't he be gone?" Well, that's...you know. *laugh* The personal Personae are for that individual's exclusive use, so even if they've been returned once, when the timing is right they come back. This is especially true of the the initial equipping Personae, since they are the other selves that are the closest to the users.
Q: How did Nanjou feel when he found out that Kandori was alive?
A: I don't think it's something that can be expressed in a single word. Nanjou fears that if Yamaoka hadn't been there, he might have turned into Kandori, and Kandori is also his rival. He also has doubts, because Kandori should be dead.
Kandori's rebirth happened via the power of rumors. Actually, at that point, he was dead and gone - the New World Order used rumors and brought him back to life. Of course, it was also the work of Nyarlathotep's will. And this time, Nanjou was on one of his occasional return trips to Japan, and by chance found out about the incident. During his investigation, he noticed that it seemed to be connected to Kandori. But, I think that when he actually saw Kandori with his own eyes in the science research facility, he must have been shocked. He must have felt a bunch of different things all at once.
