People actually believe this stuff, you know.

"Most historians are entirely ignorant of Hitler's occult background. The Nazis were being manipulated, through Hitler, by secret Thule Society magicians, who were pawns of the Hollow Earth Vhujunka creatures. Everything Hitler did revolved around ancient Thule prophecies concerning an Aryan Atlantis.
The weird "Man in Black" that Hitler described in his writings was actually a Thule Society wizard. Hitler said he had met "this New Man who is living among us... I was afraid of his presence." For good reason, the Thule society had made a bargin with the Anti-beings. This accounts for the Fuhrer's terrible strategic blunders during the latter half of the War.
When World War II ended, Hitler and his Last Battalion boarded a submarine and escaped the Conspiracy to Argentina; they then established a base for advanced saucer-shaped aircraft inside the hole at the South Pole. When the Allies learned what had happened, they dispatched Adm. Richard E. Byrd and a "scientific expedition"-in fact an army-to attack the Nazi base, but they were no match for the superior Nazi weapons." (link)

"These projects were also necessary for survival of the secret 'UFO' force, which Hitler called the "Last Battalion," at the Antarctic." (link)

"According to many claims, Hitler himself was interested in holy relics in general and the Lance of Longinus in particular. However, one must establish how much Hitler and the Nazi Party were actually interested in these relics and how much was merely attributed to him through what one historian calls "inter-historian incest." One of the best ways to do this is through contemporary accounts, such as the 1938 edition of Mr. John Gunther's Inside Europe (New York and London: Harper and Brothers), from which you may read online the section of "Chapter 1: Hitler" entitled "Attitude Toward Religion." There is no small amount of information that certain groups within the Nazi Party, and perhaps Hitler himself, were involved in occult activity of a number of varieties." (link)

"At any rate, a legend came to center around the spear which Hitler believed in very strongly; that whosoever possessed the spear and understood its powers for serving good and evil could conquer the world. The spear which Hitler believed to be the True Spear had a history which could be traced at least as far back as Constantine the Great, the Roman Emperor who had legalized Christianity...
An aside to this story about Hitler and the Lance is the fact that there is another story about General George S. Patton of the United States Army. In light of the Spear's incredible legend, Patton is said to have become extremely upset at General Eisenhower's decision to return such a great talisman of power to the Hapsburgs. Consequently, some people have theorized that the lance which was actually returned to Vienna may not have been the original spearhead, but that it is, rather, a copy---a counterfeit---of the original which Patton insisted be retained by the United States...
The sanctum included a 12,000-volume library of Aryan lore and a cavernous dining hall with an Arthurian round table for Himmler and twelve trusted lieutenants. Reportedly, each knight of Himmler's round table received a coat of arms; at the man's death, his emblem was to be incinerated in the pit of the Supreme Leaders' Hall (below), and the ashes placed in an urn atop one of twelve pedestals there." ADOLF HITLER: Er, the famous German dictator that took power in 1932. In the Tsumi timeline, he did not commit suicide in 1945; according to rumor (and you know that's always the important thing) he was saved by his elite soldiers, the Last Battalion, and he's still alive, waiting to come back to power. He wants to raise Xibalba so that he can create the perfect Dictator-State in Sumaru City. He's also just Nyarlathotep in disguise - this time, Nyarly took the form of the evil that people commit en masse, not just an individual Shadow. (That's why you have Nazis running all over in this game; they're a symbol of the GROUP evil that humans are capable of.)

The real Hitler was apparently obsessed with the occult and Christian relics, so it's not out of the question that he was the black Mayan sorcerer who possessed the Lance of Longinus. He was part of some weird occult group called the Thule Group, where he got many of the founding ideas for the Nazi party...

LONGINUS 13: The elite soldiers of Hitler's Last Battalion. They get their name from the fact that there are 13 members of the group. Longinus was the name of the Roman soldier that stabbed Christ with a spear when he was crucified, and all of the Longinus mecha carry a "Longinus copy spear." These spears have the power to seal Persona away, so the Longinus 13 are formidable opponents. The 13 Longinus robots all have different voices and personalities. In fact, they were originally intended to be female, but this was changed at the last minute! They're most likely based on Himmler's and his Round Table of 12 Lieutenants.

The Longinus 13 are apparently the executors of the Himmels-Feuer "Marionette-Jaeger" (Heavenly Fire "Marionette-Hunters.") This means, in short, that their job is to hunt Persona users, especially the Masquerade members and the Joker. Hitler also intends to use them to replace the 12 Zodiac Houses and Seven Sisters High School and raise Xibalba using their power.

You meet all thirteen Longinus mecha during the game, but you don't necessarily fight all of them.
Eins, Zwei, Drei, Vier (Holy Knights #1, 2, 3, 4): On the 8th floor of Xibalba, in the Lamat Room
Funf, Sechs, Sieben (Holy Knights #5, 6, 7):
Sacred Urn Room of the Aquarius Shrine
Acht, Neun, Zehn (Holy Knights #8, 9, 10):
If you bring Yukino along to the central bridge of Caracol
Elf (Holy Knight #11): If you choose to fight with Maya or Eikichi on top of Mt. Katatsumuri
Zwolf (Holy Knight #12): If you choose to fight with Ginko or Yukino on top of Mt. Katatsumuri
Dreizehn (Holy Knight #13): If you choose to fight alone on top of Mt. Katatsumuri
LAST BATTALION: At the end of World War II, Hitler escaped with an elite group of troups in a set of submarines, and they set up base on the South Pole. Over time, the ranks of the Antarctic Nazis swelled, and now there are supposedly two million Nazis on the South Pole, with extremely advanced technology. See, there's a UFO buried under the Antarctic ice, and Hitler wants to raise it and have it populated by the Last Battalion, who are the chosen ones.

Or so rumor says. (I swear, reading conspiracy webpages has to be the cheapest entertainment around.)

Anyways, In-Lak'ech predicted the reappearance of the Last Battalion before Xibalba was supposed to take off. The Last Battalion has a pyramidal hierarchy, as explained below (muchas gracias to Datenshi for help in figuring out the strangely-romanized doitsugo):
LOWEST RANK: Maschinen Kommando (machine-gun commandos), Scharfschuetze (sharpshooters/snipers), Willenskraft (Willpower), Maschinensoldat (machine-gun infantry), Schuetzesoldat (gunners)
INTERMEDIATE: Metal Drache (metal dragon), SS (Schutzstaffel), Metal Zentaur (metal centaur), Hellsehen (clairvoyance), Kommandant (commandant)
HIGHEST RANK: Longinus 13 (Knights of the Holy Lance)
    FUEHRER: Adolf Hitler
The giant planes of the Nazi force are called the Me666B-O Gigant (Me666B-0 Giants.) Maybe the Me refers to Merovingian Dynasty, a race of Frankish kings that was supposedly descended from Jesus and Mary Magdalene. Hitler had some odd ideas about the Merovingians...
