CHARACTERS Fatal Frame II is set in All God's Village (�F�_��), which was positioned over yet another opening to the land of the dead. The four largest families in the village were the Osaka, Kiryuu, Tachibana, and Kurosawa families, and they were responsible for performing the rituals necessary to keep the gate of hell closed. There are references to another family, the Tsuchihara family, but their home seems abandoned. The village is trapped in an eternal night, and people who wander too close to its boundaries are never seen again. All names given in Japanese order, i.e. family name first.
