BOUND GHOSTS
地縛霊

Chibakurei are the result of unusual deaths (war casualties, violent or accidental deaths, or suicides, for example). Although most of these ghosts are bound to the physical site of their death, some can be attached to objects or buildings. Bound souls can only move in a radius of about fifty meters, and may possess people. Since these ghosts are lonely and tormented for a long time, they try to draw other people into death. For example, reccurent accidents or other mysterious phenomena at the site of a strange death may be caused by these ghosts. (source)

    * These ghosts are editors of gaming magazines both in English and Japanese. The Japanese counterparts for these are probably:
  • Truth Binder = Mr. Shibata (the director of the Fatal Frame series)
  • Burdened Man = Mr. Kikuchi (the producer of the Fatal Frame series)

The following four people are editors/columnists at Famitsu, a major Japanese gaming magazine:
  • Man Who Continues Searching: Idesu Ide
  • Woman Who Continues Writing: Team Tateyama
  • Man Who Got Too Much: Mr. Inaba
  • Woman Who Continues to Draw: Shibata Ami (a manga artist who apparently has done some drawings for Famitsu)
